The Most Romantic View in Philly

Like many Philadelphians and visittors alike, I really enjoy photographing the Rustic Pavillion for it's fairy tale charm. For this shot, I specifically waited for the sun to just finish setting in order to capture vivid blue sky. The image I wanted to create was this magical place where at the end of a winding uphill journey was a destination where one can could rest the mind and seek clarity on life's philosphical questions.

I turned the shot pink to create warmth, magic, and romance.

What is also fascinating about the Pavillion is the history behind it. It was built as a dedication to Fitz Eugene Dixon, Jr., a American educator, sportsman, and philanthropist. Mr. Dixon comes from the well-known Widener family with far-reaching influence and contributions to the Philadelphia region from the Widener University, Love Statue on JFK Blvd, and ownership of all 4 Philadelphia major sports teams. Enjoy the journey...
