“Paint Torch,” a 51-foot-long sculpture of a paintbrush by the artist Claes Oldenburg, was installed on Saturday in Lenfest Plaza at thePennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Mr. Oldenburg, 82, was present for most of the installation process, which took all day and ended with the careful positioning of a giant “paint glob” near the foot of the sculpture. Reference
Even though the weather was not ideal for photography meaning the sky the gray and the sun was nowhere to be found, I was excited to see this new piece of public art and wanted to photograph it as soon as possible. I do plan on photographing this again when the weather gets better.
