Beverly Pepper's "Phaedrus"

Sculpture: Phaedrus dedicated on May 31, 1978. It is a triangular steel sculpture pierced with a triangular opening produced by Beverly Pepper specifically for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Dimension: weighs 12 tons; 19 feet high, 19 feet x 8 feet at its base.

By the way, Phaedrus was a dialogue written by Plato between Socrates and Phaedrus.

Artist: Beverly Pepper (1922 to present): Born in New York in 1922, Beverly Pepper studied at the Pratt Institute & the Art Students League in New York. She is noted in for her large-scale metal sculptures with their characteristic pyramidal shapes.

This particular sculpture caught my attention because I was thinking how nicely it fit in with the WHYY building right next to it; I thought for sure that it belong to the WHYY building. After some reasearch, I'm surprised to learn that Phaedrus belongs to the the Federal Reserve Building, I stand corrected!
Enjoy the journey...ADP
